LSHF cables are slow to catch fire and burn slowly with low smoke and toxic halogen gases, making it easier for people to escape during a fire.

The wire or cable shall pass the test if the distance between the top support's lower edge and the charring's onset-eater than 50 mm. All soot is to be ignored, and softening or any deformation of the non-metallic is also to be ignored.
